Tributes

(2020-present)

There is no need to wait until someone is gone to pay tribute to them and acknowledge their importance in our lives, the mark they have left in our memory.

Portraiture is the best way to represent and remember a person; it frames a moment in their story and takes us back to places, circumstances, and moments that bring our memories back into the light.

In “Tributes” I recreate these portraits as digital collages, infusing them with symbols and colors that represent a part of the subjects’ soul, transforming a simple photograph into a homage and re-signifying a particular moment to carry it into a memorable space. I reclaim the value of the portrait as a personal symbol, turning it once again into a ritual, where the printed object regains its space and occupies a place in the home, in the nest we inhabit.
